A graduate from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with first class honours in industrial design, David Gu works as a senior product designer for Philips Design. A mercurial individual with big ideas that engage rather than remain objects, his designs have become some of the most popular personal electronic devices found in stores today. From audio and speakers to mobile phones, peripheral and accessories to domestic appliances, his grasp of the way in which personal technology touches humans and shapes the way they live their lives knows no bounds.
WIP
WIP is a simple but fun paper sculpture made based on the original TTXS figure. The concept of the work is to keep the initial figure as "untouched" as possible, while a little scene is created with little groups of people constructing the little boy figure with a paper air plane. The designer would like to capture the moment of "Work In Process" of the community which best represents the growing power for creative industry in Hong Kong.
